Real Seedance 2.5 films with their prompts

Four official demo generations — reference film-making, multi-style storytelling, product ads and video extension — each with the exact prompt that made it.

Prompt

Fast-paced cinematic match-cut film: a flawless crystal ball engraved with a glowing 'seedance' logo stays center frame while the background snaps between 8 scenes on the beat — macro water splashes, a retro café, a skater at sunset, festival lasers — ending on a black title card, styled after @image1.

Seedance 2.5 FAQ

Everything about modes, limits and pricing.

What is Seedance 2.5?

Seedance 2.5 is ByteDance's newest flagship video model, built for long narration, strong reference following, precise editing and multilingual audio. ViewMax runs it through the official Volcengine Ark API.

What's new in Seedance 2.5 vs Seedance 2.0?

Seedance 2.5 doubles the single-take length from 15 to 30 seconds, raises the reference budget from 15 to 50 materials (30 images + 10 videos + 10 audio clips), adds audio-only references, understands prompts in 11 languages instead of 6, sharpens editing precision with task-type control, and adds MOV output for professional color pipelines.

Which generation modes are supported?

All of them: text-to-video, reference generation with up to 30 images + 10 videos + 10 audio clips, first-frame and first & last frame image-to-video, video editing, and forward/backward video extension.

How do @mentions work?

Every attached material gets a number — Image 1, Video 2, Audio 1. Type @ in the prompt to reference one, e.g. "make @image1 dance like @video1". The model reads these tokens natively.

How long and what resolution can videos be?

Any length from 4 to 30 seconds at 480p or 720p, in 16:9, 4:3, 1:1, 3:4, 9:16, 21:9 or smart ratio. 1080p support arrives on August 17.

How many credits does a video cost?

Pricing is per second: 18 credits/s at 480p and 40 credits/s at 720p. Runs that include a video input — edits, extensions and video references — cost less: 12 credits/s at 480p and 25 credits/s at 720p. A 5s 720p video is 200 credits.

What are the video editing rules?

Attach the source video (4-30s) and describe the change with editing words like add, remove, replace or modify. The output automatically keeps the source's aspect ratio and length, and editing is billed at the cheaper video-input rate.

Does it generate sound?

Yes — dialogue, sound effects and background music are generated in sync by default. You can toggle audio off, or supply reference audio (wav/mp3, up to 10 clips) for voices and music.

What happens if a generation fails?

Credits are refunded automatically for failed tasks. Note that Seedance rejects uploads containing real human faces; use illustrated or virtual characters instead.
